The plot
An introverted boy, tormented by bullying and isolation, stumbles upon an abandoned hideout. There he finds a mysterious music box that drives him to a desperate act of rebellion. The unsettling object ties him to an even darker fate: swallowed by the television, Mono is hurled into the twisted world of the game.
The images
The film moves between countryside exteriors, with vineyards, greenhouses and an old brick tower, and the interiors of the abandoned hideout, cut by cold and warm light. At its centre is a lonely boy, wrapped in his coat, and a few objects anyone who knows the game will recognise straight away: the paper bag, the television.
A Reelab Production film
